How to get here

If you arrive by plane:
There is a car rental at La Serena airport.
If you prefer to take the bus: just wait at the road before the airport (opposite side). All buses pass La Serena airport, just signal you want to get on. There are buses to Pisco Elqui every 20-30 minutes.

Take the ruta 5 (Panamericana) till La Serena. In La Serena follow the signs to the Elqui Valley or the airport (ruta 41). The distance La Serena - Pisco Elqui is abt. 100 kms.
Follow the ruta 41 passing Vicuña and Rivadavia. Shortly after the village of Rivadavia turn right (ruta 485), following the signs in direction of Paihuano, Montegrande, Pisco Elqui. The road takes you directly to Pisco Elqui.

In Pisco Elqui from the main plaza (church) turn right. The road then ends, you turn left in dirección to Horcón and Alcohuaz. Cabañas Caballieri are about 1 km from the center of  Pisco Elqui al your right side.

There are buses from La Serena. From the bus terminal leaves only one company, it is better to go to the plaza de Abasto. From there leave all companies (Via Elqui, Sol de Elqui, ElquiMar). They leave every 20-30 minutes; the trip takes aprox. 2,5 hours until Pisco Elqui. The ultimate bus leaves la Serena at 20.00 hrs.

You can also take a "colectivo" (shared taxi) in La Serena (they leave from calle Domeyko) till Vicuña, and from Vicuña you can take the bus till Pisco Elqui.
